About The Position

Pacific Supply is seeking Yard Material Handlers to direct and coordinate yard workers who load and unload building materials. The role includes overseeing material handling activities and the use and care of machines and equipment, maintaining timely yard paperwork, inspecting shipments, loading and unloading vehicles, and reconciling material counts. The position also involves assisting customers in a courteous and friendly manner. Pacific Supply is a distributor of building products with over 40 locations throughout the Western United States and has served the construction industry and local communities since 1953. Requirements

One to three years of related yard or distribution center experience.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to perform heavy lifting.
Forklift experience.
Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
Ability to work as a team member.

Nice To Haves

One year of lead experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Direct work in loading and unloading materials and in the use and care of machines and equipment.
Complete yard paperwork and document incoming and outgoing material in a timely manner.
Coordinate and inspect the specified quantity and quality of shipments coming into and going out of the yard.
Load and unload customer and company vehicles.
Count and reconcile incoming and outgoing materials.
Assist customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
