We are currently seeking hardworking, dependable Yard Laborers to join our team. Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and math skills
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to pass a railroad background check and maintain credentials to work on railroad property
  • Lift and carry up to 60 pounds
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and reach throughout the workday
  • Operate tools and equipment for extended periods
  • Work safely around heavy equipment and railroad materials

Nice To Haves

  • Previous labor, construction, manufacturing, warehouse, landscaping, railroad, or outdoor work experience is helpful but not required
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Valid driver's license preferred (must not have any major driving offenses within the last 3 years)

Responsibilities

  • Operate a hand-held rail saw to cut rail as directed
  • Use hydraulic spike pullers, bolt guns, drills, and various hand tools
  • Remove tie plates and prepare railroad materials for reuse or recycling
  • Sort rail components and Other Track Materials (OTM) using sorting equipment
  • Clean and maintain railroad switches
  • Move and organize railroad materials including ties, tie plates, anchors, joint bars, and other components
  • Assist with yard maintenance, vegetation control, and general housekeeping
  • Participate in safety briefings and maintain effective radio communication
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and company property
  • Follow all company, railroad, and safety regulations
  • Report incidents, injuries, and safety concerns promptly
  • Complete required safety training and certifications
