About The Position
POSITION SUMMARY: The Yard Laborer position will be responsible for torching larger pieces of metal, moving materials and purchasing scrap from walk-in customers. REPORTS TO: Yard Manager SUPERVISES: N/A ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Torching large pieces of Metal Assisting customers. Unloading customer’s items. Identifying materials (prepared and unprepared). Purchasing items at correct price. Regular and timely attendance are an expectation of the position. Follow the 5S foundations for deploying lean production tools and processes.
Requirements
- Self-starter that takes initiative along with analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills
- Ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Talking, hearing, repetitive motion, stooping, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, and climbing stairs.
- Exerting up to one hundred (100) pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to fifty (50) pounds of force frequently, and/or up to twenty (20) pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- ability to operate machinery and determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned including making general observations of facilities.
