About The Position

The Yard Laborer supports safe, on-time, and on-budget yard and warehouse operations. This role involves staging materials, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with shipping/receiving and inventory tasks under direction. The Yard Laborer executes task-level work as assigned by the Yard Foreman or Yard Superintendent, making routine choices within checklists and standard work. They are responsible for escalating safety hazards, inventory discrepancies, or equipment issues to their lead.

Requirements

• OSHA 10-Hour Construction card required prior to start date.
• Ability to lift/push/pull 50+ lbs., work outdoors in varied conditions, and stand/walk most of shift.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Clean driving record; must be able to meet MVR and insurance requirements to be approved as a company driver.

Nice To Haves

• First Aid certification preferred.
• Forklift experience and/or certification preferred.
• Basic familiarity with basic business mobile apps preferred (BambooHR, etc.).
• Proficiency in driving pickup trucks pulling trailers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload, stage, and organize materials, tools, and small equipment with care to prevent damage and mix-ups.
• Support shipping and receiving: check counts, tag/label items, and move stock to designated locations.
• Maintain warehouse/yard cleanliness: housekeeping, debris removal, safe walkways and storage.
• Follow traffic control and pedestrian/equipment separation practices in the yard.
• Assist with inventory management: counts, bin maintenance, cycle checks, and simple corrections.
• Participate in daily huddles and Job Safety Analyses (JSA); use PPE correctly and report hazards immediately.
