About The Position

The Yard Jockey will be responsible for moving and staging trailers safely and efficiently to ensure the yard and docks operate on schedule. This role involves jockeying trailers under the direction of a supervisor/foreman and performing other assigned duties. The position requires preparing for the day by completing required vehicle checks for the jockey truck and forklift (if applicable), moving trailers from the lot to dock doors and back, and repositioning raw material loads as needed. The Yard Jockey will also install and remove trailer stands, follow all site and safety rules, and when loading is needed, review Bills of Lading (BOLs), complete final certification for outbound loads, wrap partial pallets, and process paperwork.

Requirements

21 years or older
Valid U.S. Drivers License
Valid CDL License with Non-Excepted Interstate Status and Follow DOT regulations
Ability to communicate effectively in English
Position may in include pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying between 20 and 50 lbs. throughout the shift (with or without accommodation)
Position requires non-traditional shifts and weekend work

Responsibilities

Jockey trailers under direction of the supervisor/foreman and perform other assigned duties
Prepare for the day by completing required vehicle checks (VCR) for the jockey truck and forklift (if applicable)
Move trailers from the lot to dock doors and back to the lot as directed; reposition raw material loads to doors as needed
Install and remove trailer stands as necessary and follow all site and safety rules
When loading is needed: review BOLs, complete final certification for outbound loads, wrap partial pallets, and process paperwork in NIS (or turn in to the supervisor)
