About The Position

US FOODS® is seeking a non-CDL Yard Jockey who is eager to advance their potential and grow within the US FOODS® family. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth operation of our logistics by managing equipment and ensuring readiness for deliveries and backhauls. The Yard Jockey will work closely with dispatch, warehouse supervisors, and mechanics to ensure all equipment is properly assigned, moved, and prepared for the next day's operations. This position offers guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week, paid training, and overtime, along with excellent leadership and a strong safety culture.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the state of residence.
• Minimum of six months Non-CDL commercial driving experience preferred.
• Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
• Must be able to read and communicate in the English language, including holding a conversation, understanding highway traffic signs and signals, responding to official inquiries, and entering information on reports and records.
• Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift.
• Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of six months Non-CDL commercial driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Dispatcher/Router for truck/trailer and door assignments.
• Move assigned equipment (trucks/trailers) between buildings as directed by the Router or Warehouse Supervisor.
• Load, unload, or merge loads between environments.
• Stage shuttle trailers nightly for shuttle drivers.
• Set up trailers for backhaul with a tractor and empty pallets.
• Place backhauls in the correct door for unloading by warehouse staff.
• Ensure all equipment is paired and ready for the next day's deliveries.
• Work with mechanics nightly.
• Attend all required company meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
