About The Position

We are seeking a 2nd shift Yard Jockey (2:30pm-11:00pm Monday-Friday) to work in our new Hagerstown Distribution Center. In this role, you will work independently and exercise judgment. You will be responsible for moving trailers to and from loading docks, perform safety checks, maintain paperwork, in addition to moving material around the facility.

Requirements

High School or equivalent
3-5 years’ experience in the field or in a related area
CDL Class A license that has an accident free record, with at least one year driving experience.
May be required to be certified on: Electric Jack, forklifts, Turret, etc.
Computer experience is preferred
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, reach, pull and push for extended periods.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to listen and communicate effectively and have the ability to follow specific instructions where high levels of accuracy and standards are already in place.
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given

Responsibilities

Responsible for operating gasoline or diesel powered tractor trailer combination bringing trailer to loading docks to be unloaded
Responsible for performing safety checks on the trailer including but not limited to lights, tires, locks, doors, etc. ensuring that the trailer is secure to be loaded and unloaded
Assists other workers in loading and unloading trailers, while maintaining all paperwork for trailer and describing trailer contents
Maintains contact with dispatchers in order to receive delivery or pick up instructions or to receive notice of changes in scheduled delivery or pick up
Required to report any and all instances where functions were not performed accurately and recommend corrective measures. Follow all safety regulations required by OSHA and Company
Required to move material around the DC including hand deliveries to other areas within the warehouse
May be required to assist or work on projects that may come up within the DC
Other duties as assigned.
