About The Position
Stericycle is now part of W M. The Yard Hostler-Non CDL is a non-driving position within the Operations Team. This role assists in moving and spotting equipment to facilitate terminal/warehouse needs for organizing and processing material for shipment, storage, or destruction. Responsibilities include trailer sanitation, moving equipment, conducting daily inspections, and ensuring timely movements and thorough knowledge of on-hand inventory and positioning. The Yard Hostler may organize vehicles within a WMHS yard to ensure they are ready for unloading, loading, and transport. The WMHS yard is an enclosed property boundary surrounding company buildings, and the Yard Hostler operates vehicles only within company property. This role also performs standard Plant Associate job duties as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
- Must be 21 years of age
- 0-1 year of experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to maintain radio or telephone contact with dispatcher.
- Ability to report maintenance problems.
- Ability to operate company equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ability to perform standard Plant Associate job duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Assists in moving and spotting equipment required to facilitate the needs of terminals/warehouses in organizing and processing material for shipment, storage or destruction.
- Performs trailer sanitation.
- Moves equipment.
- Conducts daily inspections.
- Ensures timely movements and thorough knowledge of on-hand inventory and positioning.
- Organizes vehicles within a WMHS yard to ensure they are ready for unloading, loading, and transport.
- Maintains radio or telephone contact with dispatcher to receive delivery or pick up instructions or to receive notice of changes in scheduled delivery or pick up.
- Reports any maintenance problems to Transportation/Dispatcher for follow-up.
- Operates company equipment in a safe and efficient manner to minimize the risk of injury and equipment damage.
- Perform all Plant Associate job duties as assigned.
