About The Position

The Yard Hand is responsible for all yard operations, safety, and housekeeping. This role ensures proper procedures are followed for accessing and departing the yard, maintains a high level of customer service for truck drivers and customers, and directs and controls all activities within the yard. The position also focuses on maintaining high product quality, working towards company objectives for productivity and customer service, and ensuring a clean and organized yard. Adherence to all company and safety policies and procedures is crucial, as is fostering a positive and safe work environment. Other duties as required will also be part of this role.

Requirements

Minimum grade 12 education required
Previous Yard experience - min 2 years
Reliable, ability to carry out tasks correctly while under pressure
Be able to work in a fast paced environment
Ability to follow instructions meticulously
Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised
Team player, adaptable, energetic with a positive professional attitude
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Excellent customer service skills
Problem solver and able to deal with product and people issues that may occur
Strong communication skills

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of plumbing and/or electrical industry products will be considered an asset
Forklift Experience an asset
First Aid Certificate an asset
