About The Position
The Yard Forklift Operator is a non-exempt position responsible for operating a forklift in the yard, loading trailers, and ensuring the safe and efficient movement of pipe. This role requires adherence to all safety procedures, performing daily yard maintenance, and assisting with inventory and shipping schedules.
Requirements
- Complete forklift, classroom, and hands-on training
- Must be trained and licensed to operate a forklift
- Ability to work weekends and overtime if necessary
- Good skills in reading, writing, and math
- Must know and comply with all safety procedures for safe operation
- Knowledge of pipe print to distinguish different sized pipe

- Loading of Flatbed trailers
- Forklift experience
Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift
- Load trailers
- Check number of units against packing slip
- Watch for damaged product in the units when loading
- Clear the staging area daily, placing pipe in the correct storage bays while keeping watch for damaged product
- Pre-build units for next day shipping schedule when time permits
- Perform forklift inspections according to Forklift Checklist
- Perform yard count for monthly inventory
- Police yard and clean prior to end of shift
- Place pipe from partial pallets that are in staging area in the piece rack each morning
- Comply and ensure safety and company policies and procedures are followed
- Lift 50 pounds (anything over 50 pounds requires assistance)
- Perform any other duties as assigned by your supervisor
