About The Position

The job of Campus Supervisor - High School is done for the purpose/s of under general supervision, supervising and monitoring the behavior of the students who are outside/inside the classroom and at school sponsored activities both on and off campus. Also responsible for the monitoring of personnel and/or visitors; communicating information in response to inquiries; and enforcing applicable sections of the Education Code, the Penal Code, the District's Conduct Code and individual school rules pertaining to student behavior. The job of Yard Duty Supervisor was established for the purpose/s of providing support in the oversight of student safety and conduct on school property during assigned periods. Responsibilities include ensuring student behavior adheres to campus policies, assisting in the resolution or reporting of potential conflicts, and helping to maintain a safe environment for all students on campus.

Providing visibility, maintaining order and security
Ensuring that unauthorized visitors or students do not enter campus
Deterring potential criminal activities
Documenting activities
Providing written reference
Conveying information
Maintaining efficient and safe traffic flow and use of parking lot/s
Taking the appropriate action to resolve immediate safety and/or security concerns
Intervening to correct improper behavior
Halting activities that would harm others or school property
Informing students of acceptable school behavior
Enforcing campus rules and regulations
Reporting student injuries
Completing required accident forms
Interceding in potential problem situations between students
Providing assistance to staff in discipline of students
Writing referrals when necessary
Providing general supervision of students outside of class
Informing site principal or his/her designee of problems likely to disrupt the educational process
Asking students who are out of class during class time for their reason
Directing tardy students to the appropriate school office
Escorting students to the school administration in cases of serious or repeated violations
Recognizing and reporting any signs of unusual activities
Intercepting non-students who come on campus during school hours and directing them to report to the office or leave campus
Notifying the site principal or his/her designee immediately if a non-student fails to comply
Assisting in maintaining the safety of duty area(s)
Monitoring for proper identification
Directing visitors to the office prior to going to a classroom or any other location on the school grounds
Reporting safety hazards and vandalism to administration
Assisting students with various needs related to assigned duty area(s)
Wearing District-designated attire in a presentable manner during assigned work hours
Effectively communicating and maintaining cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work

Responsibilities

Assist law enforcement officers (when directed) in working with students (e.g., communicating with officers and students, assisting in behaviors, monitoring security cameras under supervision, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the safety of the school and the students.
Maintains discipline records (e.g., schedules, investigations, guidelines, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of information for future reference and/or audit for compliance to established policies.
Monitors visitors, incidents including personal injuries, altercations, suspicious activities, rule violations, etc. for the purpose of identifying unauthorized visitors and incidents to appropriate site personnel ensuring appropriate resolution and follow-up in accordance with administrative, site security and campus safety guidelines.
Monitors student behavior during and between assigned periods and at student events (e.g., lunch room, classrooms with substitutes, detention, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring student compliance with established guidelines, maintaining a safe and positive learning environment, and secure facility.
Patrols school facilities (e.g., grounds, roads, buildings, adjacent areas, parking lots, sports fields, etc.) for the purpose of providing visibility, maintaining order and security, ensuring that unauthorized visitors or students do not enter campus and deterring potential criminal activities.
Prepares written materials (e.g., incident reports, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
Provides traffic and parking control (e.g., setting up drop-off lanes in morning, monitoring students driving, monitoring students dropped off go to classroom, monitor parking lots for passes and refer non authorized cars for ticketing, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining efficient and safe traffic flow and use of parking lot/s.
Responds to a variety of situations (e.g., accidents, injuries, vandalism, suspicious activities, alarms, etc.) for the purpose of taking the appropriate action to resolve immediate safety and/or security concerns.
Supervises student behavior and intervenes to correct improper behavior, unruly activities involving students, halting activities that would harm others or school property for the purpose of ensuring the safety of the students and security of the school.
Inform students of acceptable school behavior.
Monitor student conduct in and around campus; enforce campus rules and regulations.
Immediately report student injuries to the site administrator or his/her designee, and complete required accident forms.
Intercede in potential problem situations between students; provide assistance to staff in discipline of students,and when necessary, write referrals.
Patrol assigned duty area(s) during assigned hours providing general supervision of students outside of class, and inform site principal or his/her designee of problems likely to disrupt the educational process.
Ask students who are out of class during class time to give reason for their absence from class. Direct tardy students to go to appropriate school office.
Escort students to the school administration in cases of serious or repeated violations.
Recognize and report any signs of unusual activities. Intercept non-students who come on campus during school hours and direct them to either report to the office or leave campus. Notify the site principal or his/her designee immediately if a non-student fails to comply.
Assist in maintaining the safety of duty area(s). Monitor for proper identification and/or direct visitors to the office prior to going to a classroom or any other location on the school grounds.
Report safety hazards and vandalism to administration.
Assist students with various needs related to assigned duty area(s) (i.e., assisting students in the cafeteria).
Wear District-designated attire in a presentable manner during assigned work hours.
Effectively communicate and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
