The Yard Driver is responsible for the "spotting" and "pulling" of all trailers in and out of the dock doors while following proper "pull light procedures". This role ensures that every trailer has a nose stand and is properly chocked. The Yard Driver is also responsible for Product Protection, which includes monitoring temperatures, fuel levels, and the proper running of refrigeration units. Additionally, they are responsible for sealing finished loads, maintaining the integrity of those seals while trailers are on Tyson property, and maintaining good traffic flow for outside drivers. The role also involves ensuring outbound load trailers are washed and sanitized before loading, maintaining a debris-free truck yard, performing pre-trip inspections on Shag trucks, reporting defects immediately, and ensuring the daily cleanliness of Shag trucks. Adherence to all PBX (part of Tyson Foods, Inc.) Shag Procedures and Training, and prioritizing safety while operating a shag truck are critical aspects of this position.
