About The Position

This position is responsible for operating trucks and moving trailers in and out of loading areas while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Candidate will be responsible for operating a shag truck that places trailers in the correct dock door to be loaded or unloaded. Candidate will be considered for Yard (Shag) Driver openings on Second (2nd) shift. Duties involve completing truck inspection sheets to ensure shag truck is operating appropriately. Inspecting the trailer before placing it in the correct door, verifying temperatures, fuel levels, ensuring seal is properly closed, placing chocks in front of trailer tires and jack stand beneath the trailer. And communicating any other issues to the supervisor. Candidate may be required to perform other job duties as assigned by the supervisor. Specialized training for powered industrial trucks required to be qualified within Tyson Foods, Inc.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • At least six (6) months of experience operating heavy machinery (combination of employers accepted).
  • A resume must be submitted to be considered for this position.
  • Willing to bend, twist, reach and move around the department.
  • Able to frequently push, pull, lift, walking up and down stairs, and carry up to 40 lbs. and up to 70+ lbs. on occasion.
  • Willing to work in extreme temperatures, hot or cold.
  • Willing to work up to 12 hour shifts and overtime and weekends if required.
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
