This position is responsible for coordinating trailer and tanker traffic in the receiving yard and maintaining a log of product loads while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The Yard Driver will move correct trailers from the yard to the door and door to the yard, set reefer units at appropriate settings, check to see if reefer units will start, communicate with drivers and dispatchers, chock trailers, and report any fuel or oil leaks to maintenance. The role also involves performing pre-inspections for safety and mechanical defects on the shuttle truck at the beginning of each shift and conducting lot checks as requested by management. The position requires the ability to work in extreme hot and cold weather conditions for 12 hours per day, with repetitive bending, twisting, and turning. The driver will continually climb in and out of the truck cab and walk extensively throughout the shift.
