We Deliver the Goods: Competitive pay and benefits, including Day 1 Health & Wellness Benefits, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401K Employer Matching, Education Assistance, Paid Time Off, and much more Growth opportunities performing essential work to support America’s food distribution system Safe and inclusive working environment, including culture of rewards, recognition, and respect Position Details: Pay: $19/hr base, + $2 additional premium once trained Shift: Sunday- Thursday, 1pm start time (typically 8-10hr shift) In the position you will be required to do general warehouse loading and unloading of the trailers, when you are not moving trailers in the yard Position Purpose: The Yard Driver, Non-CDL is responsible for moving tractor trailers to/from the loading docks and parking loaded or empty trailers in designated areas in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
6+ months steady work history
Clean Class C Driver experience
Must be able to work the scheduled, assigned times and required overtime for the position.
Valid non-commercial driver’s license
Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
Pass road test
Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift; product generally ranges from between 10-35 pounds and up to between approximately 60 and 90 pounds, depending on the location

Nice To Haves

6+ months driving experience
1+ years Foodservice distribution industry experience
Onboard computer and electronic log system experience (i.e., PeopleNet)
Internal candidates may be promoted with less than 6 months experience with good performance record in accordance with driver training program requirements.

Responsibilities

Performs inspections and moves trailers safely following all DOT regulations and company safe-driving policies.
Fuels, moves, and parks tractors and trailers to the docks.
Transports tractor trailers to offsite maintenance and/or inspection facilities; requires local city driving.
Secures trucks, trailers, and equipment always. Completes all required documentation.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
General warehouse loading and unloading of the trailers, when you are not moving trailers in the yard.
