About The Position

The Yard Driver reports to the Team Leader and is responsible for completing day-to-day operational functions within the assigned department. This role may occasionally assist other departments based on business needs. As a Yard Jockey, you will split your time between the warehouse and the yard, ensuring materials and trailers are moved efficiently, accurately, and safely.

Requirements

• Certification to operate the NXAL yard driver will be required.
• A current valid Driver’s License.
• A forklift operator’s license will be required.
• Ability to gain knowledge of material service, warehousing and transportation functions.
• Ability to work with others displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude.
• Possess traits of reliability and dependability.
• Ability to be trained and learn job processes in a timely manner.
• Ability to learn computer applications and use scanners in order to meet business/customer demands/requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and perform receiving job functions within the warehouse, including yard driver duties.
• Assist in receiving parts from suppliers, pulling parts per work instructions, comparing part numbers, quantities and colors, and loading to the assigned trailer.
• Handle parts that may weigh up to fifty pounds.
• Work independently with minimum supervision.
• Perform other assigned job functions in or out of this work area when requested to meet customer needs/demands.
