About The Position

As a Yard Driver, you are responsible for operating specialized tractor trucks to maneuver semi-trailers within our two buildings – factory to warehouse and warehouse to factory. Your role involves efficiently moving, hooking, and unhooking trailers to and from loading docks, often in tight spaces. You will organize trailers in the yard in accordance with dispatcher, lead, or supervisor instructions. Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections on both the yard goat truck and trailers (checking lights, tires, brakes, fuel, oil, and water) is crucial. You will also keep accurate records of trailer movements, hourly usage, and inspection reports, and position trailers for loading/unloading while ensuring the safety of all equipment within the yard area. This is an onsite role for 1st shift Monday - Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, vocational education certificate or GED.
  • A valid CDL Class A required.
  • Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card is required.
  • Must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation.
  • Possess a positive and respectful attitude, work well with others, maintain a high sense of urgency, attention to detail, be adaptable and be safety conscious.
  • The ability to work mandatory overtime is an essential function of this role. Overtime work can include Saturdays and 10-hour shifts.
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa, now or in the future.
  • Must reside in or within commuting distance to Ontario, California.

Nice To Haves

  • No prior experience required; understanding or having had experience as a driver at a warehouse or distribution center operator is preferred.
  • At least 6 months of experience maneuvering trailers.
