This position is responsible for operating trucks and moving trailers in and out of loading areas while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only. Requirements

  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum of six (6) months prior warehouse forklift driver experience.
  • For internal candidates only: Candidate must be a full-time team member and have completed their probationary period.
  • Team members with six or more points or a suspension on their disciplinary record within the last 12 months or a Core Safety Mandate violation within the last 24 months will not be considered for the position.
  • Team members in this position who reach 9 points will be disqualified from the position and will become non-job owners until they are assigned or bid to another position.

Responsibilities

  • Operating a shag truck that places trailers in the correct dock door to be loaded or unloaded.
  • Completing truck inspection sheets to ensure shag truck is operating appropriately.
  • Inspecting the trailer before placing it in the correct door, verifying temperatures, fuel levels, ensuring seal is properly closed, placing chocks in front of trailer tires and jack stand beneath the trailer.
  • Communicating any other issues to the supervisor.
  • Performing other job duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Operating trucks and moving trailers in and out of loading areas while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
