About The Position

Leadpoint Business Services is seeking a Yard Dog Driver to perform trailer movement tasks within a recycling facility in Charlotte, NC. The primary responsibility is to safely and efficiently move trailers and containers throughout the yard to support production and shipping operations. This role involves close collaboration with the On-Site Manager and operations team to ensure a smooth workflow and maintain a safe yard environment. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth and advancement, seeking dependable, safety-focused individuals with strong attention to detail and experience operating yard trucks or similar equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Valid Driver’s License
• Previous yard dog, terminal tractor, or commercial driving experience preferred
• Strong focus on safety and situational awareness
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to work with limited supervision
• Sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to frequently get in and out of vehicles
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment (concrete floors and changing temperatures)

Nice To Haves

• CDL may be required depending on facility needs
• One (1) year experience with yard jockeying preferred

Responsibilities

• Trailer spotting and yard organization
• Move trailers to and from loading docks, staging areas, and processing areas
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of yard equipment
• Ensure trailers are properly secured and positioned for loading/unloading
• Maintain clear communication with supervisors and warehouse staff
• Monitor yard conditions and report safety concerns immediately
• Complete required logs and documentation accurately
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
