About The Position

Maddox is seeking a Yard Coordinator to operate a shuttle truck for moving flatbed trailers between storage yards over short distances on public roads. This role also involves training on forklift operations for loading and unloading trailers as needed. It is a local driving position focused on efficient and safe movement and organization of industrial transformers. The Yard Coordinator will be part of a team in a fast-paced, hard-working, and rewarding environment. The position requires operating a commercial shuttle truck, securing flatbed loads, communicating with suppliers and other drivers, and occasionally operating forklifts and cranes for inventory organization and loading/unloading transformers. Maintaining organized physical and digital logs and paperwork is essential. The role involves significant time on or around the truck, with several hours daily spent on foot securing loads and working outdoors in various weather conditions. Requirements

  • Safety-minded with a good driving record operating personal and commercial vehicles.
  • Comfortable with digital documentation and web-based software systems (computer & smartphone).
  • Excellent communicator (in-person, over the phone, and via email).
  • Quick learner.
  • Maintain a Class A CDL.
  • Keep a clean driving record.
  • Obey Hours of Service rules.
  • Pass random drug/alcohol tests.
  • Know how to use basic hand tools.
  • Follow written instructions.
  • Operate a computer or tablet.
  • Meet basic physical requirements for a heavy-equipment environment, including a DOT physical.
  • Able to operate on feet for several hours every day.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a shuttle truck to drop and hook flatbed trailers between storage yards.
  • Operate forklifts to load and unload trailers.
  • Secure flatbed loads.
  • Communicate with suppliers and other truck drivers.
  • Occasionally operate cranes to organize inventory, load, and unload transformers from flatbed trucks.
  • Keep logs and paperwork organized in both physical and digital records.
