About The Position

This position is for a Yard and Warehouse Clerk at Greystone Home Centre #227 in Saskatoon, Sk. The role involves providing customer service, assisting with order preparation and delivery, managing inventory, operating equipment, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Requirements

Strong service orientation and motivation.
Ability to serve and assist customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
Willingness to increase product knowledge and improve selling techniques through special courses, product clinics, and training sessions.
Sufficient knowledge and experience of Lumber and Building materials to effectively operate in all areas of the department.
Demonstrated ability to fulfill physical job requirements including: lifting and carrying of 50-75 lbs of force occasionally, 10-20 lbs of force constantly, and the ability to climb ladders.
Ability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.
A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

Maintain a positive, professional attitude and be dependable for all scheduled shifts.
Provide information, assistance, and service to customers to promote sales and meet their needs.
Assist in the preparation of orders for delivery.
Assist in unloading and store a variety of delivered building materials, including safe operation of a forklift.
Perform general housekeeping duties in yard and warehouse areas, keeping aisles, yard, and stockpiles neat and free of obstruction.
Observe safety regulations and eliminate hazardous conditions.
Replenish stocks in bins as required.
Be responsible for the care of forklifts, tools, and equipment.
Operate saws as directed, adhering to all safety measures and maintaining the saw shop area.
Notify and maintain open communication with the Warehouse and Yard Supervisor of low stock items and other important issues.
Maintain a good standard of appearance and personal hygiene and obtain clean uniforms.
Maintain a constant alert against the unauthorized removal of merchandise.
Be familiar with and adhere to Saskatoon Co-op policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
