About The Position

This role is responsible for various aspects of yard and delivery operations at Hamlin Building Center. Key duties include pulling loads, providing backup for CDL general delivery, flatbed delivery driving, processing returns, managing inventory, and unloading trucks. The position requires effective loading and unloading of materials, safe operation of equipment, and ensuring accuracy in matching loads to orders. The employee will also handle goods to protect them from damage and coordinate with the sales team for returns. Inventory management involves monitoring stock levels, conducting counts, and using the WMS system. The role also includes safely unloading vendor trucks and staging materials for receiving.

• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by monitoring stock levels and conducting regular counts
• Replenish stock as needed to ensure adequate supply for customer demands
• Work with the WMS system to update records and track movement of materials
• Protect materials by storing indoors or maintaining protective wrapping
• Safely unload vendor trucks and stage material for receiving

Responsibilities

• Effectively load & unload materials onto trucks for delivery or storage
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to handle heavy loads
• Ensure accuracy in matching loads to orders and verify the quality of materials
• Handle all goods to protect from equipment or weather damage
• Provide back up support for Semi Delivery of material to meet customer expectations with consideration to what makes most sense for efficient installation
• Handle material in safe manner, staging on site to prevent damage from weather or unsuspecting folks on site
• Operate equipment safely while following federal and state guidelines
• Demonstrate safe operation using the piggy back forklifts
• Complete deliveries using the smaller flat bed trucks and pickups adhering to all the same guidelines stated above
• Process returned materials efficiently, inspecting them for damage and ensuring proper documentation
• Coordinate with the sales team to determine the reason for returns and facilitate exchanges or refunds as necessary
• Restock materials following WMS process
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by monitoring stock levels and conducting regular counts
