About The Position

The Yacht Underwriter is a key member of the underwriting team. The Yacht Underwriter reports directly to the Yacht Underwriting Practice Leader with accountability to all regions. The primary goal of this position is to profitably grow a yacht book of business by actively partnering with brokers, assisting the underwriting team, working effectively with colleagues throughout the organization and be accountable for the quality of underwriting decisions and execution. No matter the role, delivering exceptional service is the priority in everything we do at PURE. As an underwriter, this looks like: Business Management: Reviewing your book of business, tracking performance, and analyzing market conditions and competition. Broker Partnership: Building and managing broker relationships, developing goals and strategies, and collaborating to craft tailored solutions for members. Underwriting Execution: Oversee new and renewal underwriting, select risks per company guidelines, and ensure timely follow-up and closing of accounts.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of P&C insurance experience, preferably underwriting in the high net worth space.
• Comfortable owning a book of business.
• Direct, empathetic communication is a staple in every aspect of your day, and you thrive on building connections with people.
• Know how to gather and analyze all the data you’ll need to make a decision on a risk.
• Work with pride and determination.
