About The Position

Spire Orthopedic Partners is hiring a per diem Xray Technologist to perform diagnostic X-rays and support patient flow and imaging operations at its Middletown, Connecticut location. The role includes welcoming and escorting patients, entering imaging data into PACS, and communicating appropriately with physicians, patients, and colleagues. The technologist also maintains and orders supplies, files and retrieves X-rays, creates film copies and CDs of digital X-rays, locates patient files using Medic and PACS, erases imaging cassettes weekly, and follows HIPAA requirements. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., on the day shift. Spire is a growing national partnership of orthopedic practices that provides administrative infrastructure and operational resources so physicians can focus on patient care. Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of radiology (two-year course).
• Valid Connecticut X-ray technician license.
• ARRT registration.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum two years of experience as an X-ray technician preferred.
• Orthopedic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly and pleasantly.
• Escort patients promptly to X-ray rooms and/or exam rooms.
• Enter data for each X-ray into the PACS system in a timely manner.
• Perform diagnostic X-rays as requested.
• Communicate appropriately with physicians, patients, and colleagues.
• Maintain and order X-ray supplies.
• File and retrieve X-rays, including the OR list.
• Generate copies of films and create CDs of digital X-rays.
• Use Medic and PACS systems to locate patient files.
• Erase cassettes for imaging weekly.
• Follow all HIPAA rules.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
