About The Position

This role is for an XRay Tech in Diagnostic Radiology at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. The position is PRN with a rotating schedule. The technologist will be responsible for positioning patients, selecting exposure factors, administering contrast media and medications, managing patient data, monitoring patient stability, and ensuring equipment integrity. This role requires adherence to radiation safety protocols and maintaining a sterile clinical environment.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

Expertly position patients and select optimal exposure factors to produce high-quality diagnostic images while minimizing the need for retakes.
Administer contrast media and medications in strict accordance with state and federal regulations, ensuring rigorous adherence to radiation safety protocols (ALARA).
Execute seamless data management by verifying lead markers and patient history prior to PACS submission, maintaining a 100% accuracy rate for digital records.
Monitor patient stability during complex procedures, identifying and reporting abnormal physiological responses to ensure immediate intervention when necessary.
Oversee equipment integrity through routine performance checks and "lock-out/tag-out" safety procedures, while maintaining a sterile and organized clinical environment.
