About The Position

This position is for an Hourly Production Xray Operator. The role requires the ability to read and interpret Product Criteria (PC) and Activity Instructions (AI), function as a team member, and work under general supervision in a fast-paced environment. A basic knowledge of computers is necessary, along with the ability to maintain expected quality levels and perform product and documentation verification. The operator will ensure NDT processes meet product criteria and monitor X-Ray equipment and its functions.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency is required.
  • Must pass WORKKEYS Tests: Applied Math, Graphic Literacy, Workplace Documents with a Level 4 or higher on ALL tests.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
  • Ability to lawfully obtain access to export-controlled items.
  • Safety awareness.
  • Ability to read and understand Activity Instructions in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Average communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good manual dexterity to operate computer equipment and precision measuring instruments.
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Able to demonstrate 2 years of full-time continuous work experience with the same employer OR 6 months of manufacturing experience.
  • Working knowledge of specific technical NDT application.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and coordinate product workflow through NDT processes.
  • Ensure product and documentation matches.
  • Check process documentation for proper technique.
  • Process product per technique.
  • Setup product to be x-rayed per technique.
  • X-Ray product.
  • Tear Down product.
  • Develop and package film to be read.
  • Monitor equipment operation during process.
  • Monitor film processing.
  • Restock film in darkroom.
  • Refill developer and fixer tanks.
  • Clean film processor as required.
  • Fill Cassettes with clean film.
  • Cut film into special sizes.
  • Organize film at film table.
  • Repair torn cassettes.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work environment.
  • Interface with Level II for technical guidance pertaining to manufacturing for NDT issues.
  • Assist Level II in training Level I candidates.
  • Perform material handling.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Clean work areas and maintain a clean work environment; perform 5S cleaning activities as required.
