Xactimate Estimator (In Office) Part-Time
About The Position
Shamrock Roofing & Construction, founded in 1977 and headquartered in Kansas City, is a family-owned company with nearly five decades of expertise in roofing and construction. The company has experienced rapid growth across the Midwest, with operations in Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. They are seeking a skilled Xactimate Estimator to join their headquarters team. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle of insurance-based construction estimates, from initial site inspection and scope development to adjuster negotiations and final approval. The Xactimate Estimator will collaborate with project managers, field crews, and insurance carriers to ensure accurate, professional, and timely estimates. This is a part-time, in-office position (30 hours/week) with paid holidays, offering significant impact in a fast-growing company.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in roofing or insurance restoration
- Xactimate Level 2 certification required
- Demonstrated experience working directly with insurance adjusters to negotiate and approve scopes
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) for documentation and collaboration
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines without dropping the ball
- Sharp attention to detail and a commitment to estimate accuracy
- A problem-solving mindset
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed, accurate construction estimates for insurance claims using Xactimate software, from inspection through final scope sign-off
- Collaborate with insurance adjusters to review, negotiate, and finalize claim scopes
- Partner with project managers to support accurate project estimates and proposal development
- Conduct occasional job site visits to assess damage and validate estimate scopes
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry pricing standards, building codes, and vendor information
- Manage multiple active estimates simultaneously, prioritizing based on urgency and project timelines
- Contribute to continuous process improvement by staying current on estimating tools, including AI-assisted workflows relevant to insurance restoration
