The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to, obtaining quality x-rays using correct position and radiation exposure, implementing safety procedures for patients, self, and staff to avoid unnecessary exposure to radiation, and creating and documenting x-ray CD copies correctly according to Patient First guidelines. The role also involves assisting Physicians, Extenders, and Nurses with patient treatment and care, handling their requests respectfully and in a timely manner, and filing and maintaining all x-ray paperwork. Ensuring patient safety when using equipment, understanding and using Patient First reporting tools and the medical records system, cleaning the work area, performing biological cleanup, and restocking supplies are also key duties. The technologist will attend training and staff meetings, work with fellow employees and externs during on-the-job training, and directly supervise externs and Radiologic Technologist Assistants performing quality x-ray exams. Availability to assist as needed, with potential interruptions for patient care or center operations, and checking email, reviewing memos, and completing checklists during each shift are expected.
