About The Position
This role involves operating stationary and mobile x-ray equipment, processing images, and ensuring patient safety through proper protection and techniques. The technologist will also assist physicians with contrast media administration and perform various technical procedures requiring independent judgment.
Requirements
- Positions and transfers patients to the examination table.
- Provides immobilization devices as required.
- Selects proper technical factors on an individual basis.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of all diagnostic equipment use within the department or satellite areas.
- Operates stationary and mobile x-ray equipment and processes images according to established procedures and sends them to PACS.
- Provides protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
- Assists physicians in preparing and administering contrast media for various special procedures.
- Practices sterile techniques and adheres to infection control policies.
- Provides a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement with ingenuity and initiative to apply diagnosis.

Responsibilities

- Provides protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
- Assists physicians in preparing and administering contrast media for various special procedures.
- Responsible for delegated areas of authority in the performance of routine or special procedures.
- Practices sterile techniques and adheres to infection control policies.
- Provides a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement with ingenuity and initiative to apply diagnosis.
- Performs all other duties as required.
