About The Position

Jefferson Family Physicians is seeking an X-ray Technologist to prepare patients for radiologic procedures, take x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety, and utilize radiation protection and shielding materials. The role involves ensuring equipment is in working order, processing paperwork, maintaining the x-ray room and supplies, processing radiologic film, and attending staff and educational meetings. The technologist will also maintain patient confidentiality, assist doctors with patients, and handle some physician calls.

Requirements

• Must know how to perform x-rays and other tests associated with the radiology department.
• Must be knowledgeable in medical terminology.
• Responsible for proper documentation guidelines according to x-ray protocols and legal requirements.
• Responsible for dress code.
• Responsible for medical record maintenance, i.e., securing information in the chart, placing dividers if applicable and proper chart order.
• High School Graduate or Equivalent
• Completion of certified x-ray course of study with certification in chest and extremities.
• Current CPR certificate.
• Must have state licensure.

Nice To Haves

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains x-ray room and stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies.

• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Assists doctor with patients.
• Handles some calls for physicians.
• Shuts down equipment and x-ray room at close of the day.
• Performs other duties assigned by Management.
