The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to, obtaining quality x-rays using correct position and radiation exposure, implementing safety procedures for patients, self, and staff to avoid unnecessary exposure to radiation, and creating and documenting x-ray CD copies correctly according to Patient First guidelines. This role also involves labeling images and sleeves correctly when making copies, understanding and correctly using x-ray and processing equipment, and utilizing the bell system. The technologist will be responsible for filing and maintaining all x-ray paperwork, ensuring patient safety when using wheelchairs, stools, and other equipment, and understanding and using various documentation tools such as the Daily Log, X-Ray Listing, Copy Listing, and X-Ray Status Screen. Proficiency in the automated medical records system is also required. Additional duties include cleaning the work area, performing biological cleanup in accordance with OSHA guidelines, restocking supplies, adhering to Patient First policies and procedures, addressing physician and nurse requests respectfully and promptly, completing area checklists, attending training and staff meetings, and being available as needed, with the understanding that breaks and mealtimes may be interrupted for patient care and center operations. The role also includes operating, using, and maintaining medical and office equipment as trained.
