The X-ray Technologist is responsible for obtaining quality x-rays using correct position and radiation exposure, implementing safety procedures to avoid unnecessary exposure to radiation, and creating and documenting x-ray CD copies correctly. This role also involves assisting Physicians, Extenders, and Nurses with patient treatment and care, handling their requests, and filing/maintaining x-ray paperwork. The technologist will ensure patient safety when using equipment, understand and use Patient First reporting tools and the medical records system, and maintain a clean work area. Responsibilities include restocking supplies, attending training, working with fellow employees and externs, directly supervising externs and Radiologic Technologist Assistants, and being available to assist as needed, with breaks potentially interrupted. The role also requires checking email, reviewing memos and policies, and completing assigned checklists during each shift.
