About The Position

The X-Ray Technician plays a critical role in the diagnostic process by producing high-quality radiographic images that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT or equivalent).
  • Valid licensure to perform radiologic procedures in Oregon.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of radiation safety and protection standards.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
  • The required skills enable the X-Ray Technician to operate imaging equipment accurately and safely, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images are produced consistently.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting particularly in diagnostic imaging.
  • Familiarity with digital imaging systems and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Additional certifications such as CPR or advanced imaging modalities.
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment with multiple priorities.
  • Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting, .
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience in patient education and support.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team environment.
  • Bone densitometry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and position patients correctly to obtain the required radiographic images.
  • Operate X-ray equipment safely and efficiently, following established protocols and safety standards.
  • Review images for quality and clarity, ensuring they meet diagnostic requirements before submission to radiologists.
  • Maintain patient records and document procedures accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to coordinate imaging services and support patient care.
  • Perform routine maintenance and quality control checks on imaging equipment to ensure proper operation.
