About The Position

This position is for a Limited X-Ray Technician responsible for ensuring optimal patient flow and efficient x-ray procedures within the department. The role requires a high level of quality in performed duties and involves daily contact with confidential patient information, necessitating the utmost privacy, discretion, and professionalism. The X-Ray Technician will perform various clerical and technical tasks related to x-ray imaging and patient care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalence.
  • Ability to type 40 words per minute.
  • Skill in operating a computer and scanner, as well as software programs including Microsoft Outlook.
  • Telephone etiquette and professional communication skills.
  • Must have at minimum California limited digital x-ray license.
  • EMR experience preferable.
  • Requires sitting and walking, with daily occasional stooping, reaching, and bending.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Hearing must be in the normal range for telephone and personal communication.
  • Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboards and other office equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs X-Ray on patients in order to diagnose problems.
  • Follows Doctor’s instructions carefully and complies with regulations for radiation protection.
  • Preps patients for x-rays (e.g., removing jewelry).
  • Ionizes X-Rays to create images of body parts for medical diagnosis.
  • Prepares patients for X-Ray, explains the process, and properly positions patients for the exam.
  • Transports patients from exam rooms and lobby to the x-ray department and back.
  • Enters patient demographics into the DR VXvue imaging system.
  • Sends digital images from the DR VXvue imaging system to the ramsoft pacs system for viewing and archiving.
  • Performs CD writing of images from ramsoft onto CDs for patients.
  • Orders laser film and other supplies for the x-ray department and file room.
  • Reviews patient encounters in EMR for patients with computed radiology exams to ensure proper diagnostic dictation.
  • Prints daily x-ray logs for the billing department and for filing.
  • Works at the Front Desk as a patient representative as necessary.
  • Performs other responsibilities as called on by their Supervisor.
