About The Position

This position is responsible for operating X-ray equipment that assists physicians with diagnosing and/or treating disease and/or injury. Additionally, the X-Ray / Radiology technician executes necessary medical assisting procedures to maintain seamless daily operations.

Requirements

  • Certification as an X-ray Technician or Radiologic Technologist from an accredited program.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions during diagnostic evaluations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure a positive experience for patients undergoing imaging procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, particularly in urgent care settings.
  • Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X-ray testing including body mechanics and patient movement.
  • Knowledge of Medical Assistant Procedures.
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology.
  • Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.
  • Skill in following infection control and radiological safety procedures.
  • Ability to perform as a Medical Assistant, triaging patients, taking vitals and drawing blood.
  • Ability to lift and position patients for the type of X-ray procedure required.
  • Ability to notice detail in drawings and differences in shapes and shadings.
  • Ability to read and write instructions, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients and other employees.
  • Ability to competently use Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with various imaging modalities such as sonography, PET scans, and mammography is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform X-ray examinations on patients as per physician orders, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and positioning them correctly.
  • Operate imaging equipment proficiently to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document imaging procedures performed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret images and assist in diagnostic evaluations.
  • Adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols during all procedures.
  • Stay updated on advancements in medical imaging technology, including PET scans and mammography.
  • Assist in urgent care settings as needed, providing timely imaging services for trauma cases at Level I Trauma Centers.
