This role performs digital X-ray studies on patients per the orders placed by providers. This is a multi-skilled clinical professional who works within the scope of practice to assist in patient care under the direction of the provider. The position involves performing provider-ordered radiographic examinations for specific anatomical parts allowed by obtained licensure, conducting proper patient positioning and immobilization, and utilizing appropriate radiation protection. The technician determines and selects proper electronic and technical factors, safeguards the patient, x-ray tube, and equipment, and reports any equipment malfunctions. This role also assists in medical documentation and clinical assistant duties, participates in promoting a positive culture and teamwork, and maintains a safe and supportive environment. The technician must understand and adhere to legal responsibilities and requirements, and may be required to travel to other facilities or adjust work hours. Additionally, the role may involve cross-functional duties such as front desk tasks (registration, scheduling, answering phones) and other duties like scribing and ordering supplies.
