About The Position

Multiple positions are available for an X-Ray Tech. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week. The schedule includes Monday through Friday shifts varying between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm, with every fourth week including PM shifts from 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm. A rotating weekend schedule occurs every fourth weekend, with Saturday shifts from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sunday shifts from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Holidays and travel may be required.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six month to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be AART registered or eligible also IDNS licensed.
• CPR certification
• 6 months - 2 years related experience

Responsibilities

• Operates radiologic equipment to produce radiographs (x-rays) of body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by Radiologist.
• Positions patient on examining table and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum view of specific areas of body requested by physician.
• Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
• Moves x-ray equipment into specified positions and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors such as time and distance.
• Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
• Obtain patient’s pertinent history.
• Maintains crash cart.
• Maintain and stock inventory.
• Maintain OSHA regulations.
• Performs other projects and duties as related to department objective.
• Must be able to get along with others, to be a team player, to accept constructive criticism from your supervisor and be able to follow work rules.
• Report to lead technologist for work assignments.
• Will assist with film quality control. Required to work evening and holidays with responsibility for the operation of the department.
• Assists and relieve manager expediting the patient work flow through the department.
