About The Position

SimonMed Imaging is seeking an X-ray Tech/Positioner FLEX to join their team. This role offers a unique career opportunity to advance skills while working alongside a dedicated team of board-certified subspecialty radiologists. The X-ray Tech/Positioner FLEX will be under the direct supervision of the Site Manager/Operations Director/Regional Clinical Manager/Modality Director. The essential functions include demonstrating competency in job-related skills, coordinating and evaluating the patient exam process, greeting and changing patients for exams, informing patients of procedures, and knowing concepts related to MRI, CT, and X-ray. The role may involve starting IVs for MRI and CT exams, assisting with patient throughput, exam set-up, and injection materials. The positioner will observe and learn MRI/CT procedures for patient screening, table set-up, coil selection, positioning, and exam selection. Duties include preparing patients for exams by assisting with dressing, undressing, and positioning, and escorting patients. Exam rooms will be prepared, and the individual must interact compassionately with patients. The FLEX position requires travel to all sites within the assigned region. The role involves utilizing and operating equipment and adhering to policies and procedures. This job description is not exhaustive and duties may change.

Requirements

• Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• 0-2 years of related experience.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and the public.
• Capable of establishing good working relationships with both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in the performance of job-related skills appropriate to his/her customer populations and departmental services.
• Directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the patient exam process.
• Greets and changes patients for scheduled exams.
• Informs patients of procedure(s) being done and process of the exam(s).
• Knows commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for MRI, CT, and X-ray.
• Starts IVs for MRI and CT exams as applicable.
• Assists the ROCC Technologist with patient throughput, exam set-up, and injection materials.
• Observe and learn MRI/CT procedures for patient screening, table set-up, coil selection, positioning, and exam selection as directed by the technologist.
• Prepares patients for exams by assisting with dressing and undressing, positioning patients for exams, and escorting patients to and from the exam rooms.
• Prepares exam rooms.
• Must be able to interact compassionately and effectively with people who range from healthy to critically ill.
• Utilizes and operates equipment and mechanical devices which provide for a functional, effective, and safe environment.
• Adheres to policies, procedures, and guidelines relative to departmental operations.
