About The Position
The Center for Academic Support (CAS) provides academic assistance to students through one-on-one or small group tutoring, both in-person and online. A writing tutor provides guided assistance to MoWest students for writing assignments from general studies courses, as well as some upper-level and graduate courses. This role requires tutors to stay up-to-date on knowledge related to writing, rhetoric, and citation. Additionally, writing tutors assist with light clerical responsibilities including scheduling and documentation of tutoring appointments.
Requirements
- MoWest Student
- Degree Seeking
- Enrolled at least part-time
- Must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Recommendation by two MoWest Faculty members
- Must have earned an A or B in English 104, 108 or ETC 200.
Responsibilities
- Provide guided assistance to MoWest students for writing assignments from general studies courses as well as some upper-level and graduate courses.
- Stay up-to-date on knowledge related to writing, rhetoric, and citation.
- Assist with light clerical responsibilities including scheduling and documentation of tutoring appointments.
