About The Position

The Health Sciences Writing Centre (HSWC) is seeking a Writing Instructor to provide individual writing instruction to undergraduate and graduate students within the Faculties of Kinesiology & Physical Education, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work, and the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. The instruction will focus on disciplinary writing conventions in the health sciences, including organization, reasoning, style, language use, and academic integrity. The role also involves teaching writing workshops, collaborating with faculty on assignment expectations, and contributing to the professional development of the Writing Centre.

Requirements

  • Completed graduate degree from a post-secondary institution.
  • Demonstrated skills for teaching academic writing across a variety of health sciences disciplines.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral degree in a related field.
  • Previous experience teaching writing to university students.
  • Familiarity with the uses of Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models in writing pedagogy.
  • Experience in health sciences or social science writing instruction at the university level.

Responsibilities
