As a Writing and Communications Specialist at FamilySearch, you will be instrumental in communicating the organization's mission across various channels including web, social media, email, blogs, public relations, and campaigns. The role requires a persuasive and purposeful writer who can foster understanding, build brand connection, and drive action. You will be expected to think holistically about the user journey and manage content from conception to publication. The target audience is global and diverse, encompassing family history enthusiasts, beginners, various age groups, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the general public, archivists, government leaders, and professional genealogists. Your work will involve crafting messages that connect these diverse groups to FamilySearch's purpose and encourage them to participate in connecting ancestors across generations. You will collaborate with engagement, engineering, and product teams, serving as a key communicator for digital content and supporting major initiatives like RootsTech, the annual family history event, as well as daily projects. Additionally, you will assist senior leaders in preparing talking points, presentations, thought leadership pieces, and speeches for external engagements with archives, societies, industry partners, and local governments.
