About The Position

The Centralized Publications Writer Technical edits and writes content for the JetBlue manual system and distributes publications to targeted Crewmembers. All work is done using Centralized Publications authoring tools and the distribution repository. All publications are maintained to established standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Excellent, proven technical and business writing, editing, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • One (1) year of technical writing experience
  • Understanding of XML and/or HTML
  • Excellent Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat skills
  • Ability to contribute in a team environment and work on several projects simultaneously
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Writes, edits and updates written content for company manuals.
  • Reviews and edits technical policy and procedural documents, ensuring that the documents are logically constructed, clearly presented, and in compliance with regulatory and departmental standards as stated.
  • Acquires and presents information through independent reading, interviews with subject-matter experts, online research, or other appropriate methods.
  • Independently develops, organizes, and presents thoughts and information clearly in writing.
  • Plans and carries out work assignments and handles problems in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices in the occupation.
  • Consults with Supervisor Operations Publications on unique situations which do not have clear precedents.
  • Tracks project status using departmental procedures and tools
  • Other duties as assigned
