This role reports to the Lead Lot Operations or a designated manager. The primary function is to load, drive, and offload vehicles using a non-DOT Wrecker Rollback truck to support lot movements and general operations before, during, and after sale days, ensuring accurate inventory flow.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED preferred
Able to safely drive a variety of vehicle makes, models, and sizes, including tow trucks, forklifts, and the service truck
Automotive or auction experience preferred, especially with service trucks or tow trucks
Proficiency with computer systems and applications
Obtain and maintain forklift certification preferred
Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license that meets the requirements
Able to safely drive a variety of make/model/sizes of vehicles
Ability to walk/stand and sustain physical activity for extended periods of time (8+ hours)
Frequent – standing, walking, talking, reaching, feeling, grasping, pushing, pulling
Occasional – climbing, balancing, crawling, kneeling, stooping, crouching, lifting
Potential – running, jumping, yelling, or other rapid or forceful movement in emergency situations
Frequent driving requires excellent visual activity and manual dexterity
Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision comparable to definitions for Clerical, Administrative, Machine Operators (including inspection) positions.
To be able to do your job at ADESA, you must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

Support lot operations by locating, loading or hooking up tow-vehicles, driving, offloading, and staging vehicles using the Wrecker Rollback truck.
Ensure operational and non-op units are stored in a safe, effective and efficient manner according to the lot set up and leader direction.
Scan the lot and use electronic devices to record the movement of vehicles on the property.
Assist with vehicle readiness tasks such as jumping vehicles and adding fluids (gas, water, etc), adding air to tires, and verifying vehicle status while maintaining accurate lot organization.
Communicate with shop and operations teams to ensure an efficient flow of inventory from vehicle check-in to the auction sale line for all vehicles needing to be towed.
Provide customer service support and coordinate with administrative teams to ensure efficient execution of sale day activities.
Confirm vehicle mileage, make year, and VIN to ensure accurate record-keeping.
Maintain work areas, Wrecker Rollback truck and tools/devices to ensure a safe environment; report any incidents or hazards to the designated manager.
Perform any other duties assigned by the designated manager.
