About The Position

The Wrapping Supervisor will take charge of daily operations, overseeing their team and ensuring top-notch packaging. This role involves reviewing production run lists, verifying codes, packaging accuracy, and product counts. The supervisor will be responsible for completing check sheets, meeting customer demands for quality and timeliness, and communicating with the Packaging Manager about any shift issues. They will also cover for the manager during absences, foster positive relationships with the union, coordinate disciplinary actions, and collaborate with production and shipping managers for smooth product flow and issue resolution. Maintaining a safe working environment, participating in accident investigations, and ensuring the packaging team keeps the work area clean and upholds Good Manufacturing Practices (G.M.P.’s) are also key responsibilities. Other related duties may be assigned by the Packaging Manager.

Requirements

  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills with the ability to problem solve and decision making.
  • Effective and diligent communication is required.
  • Must be able to generate clear and effective written correspondence.
  • Ability to analyze details and deadlines with appropriate information.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend production materials along with the ability to count and perform basic math.
  • Must be skilled in operating and examining production equipment for faults.
  • Must have general knowledge of how machinery works.
  • Have the ability to coordinate the different stages of manufacturing to ensure seamless operations.
  • Competent computer skills including MS Office Suite is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Count, calculate, and keep up with machine speed through the rhythm of repetitive motion.
  • Be a plant ninja – move swiftly to all areas of the plant.
  • Have a sharp eye for quality control – size, shape, color, cut, you name it.
  • Speak the language of written and verbal communication with clarity.
  • Read, comprehend, and practice safety procedures like a safety superhero.
  • Research, develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures.
  • Read and comprehend the production schedule.
  • Lift 50 pounds effortlessly and stand tall for long periods.
