You will be in charge of ensuring our books, media and music are out on our shelves, ready to be picked up by our library customers. You will be refreshing displays and making sure the materials are in their correct locations. Requirements

  • At least 16 years old.
  • Ability to pass a skills screening test with speed and efficiency.
  • Basic computer literacy skills.
  • Energetic person with a go-get 'em attitude.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and keeps things in tip-top order.
  • Insists on knowing where things are.
  • Engages well with others.
  • Passionate about providing an exemplary customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring books, media, and music are on shelves and ready for customers.
  • Refreshing displays and ensuring materials are in correct locations.
  • Controlling magazines and newspapers, entering magazines into the system, putting newspapers out daily, and pulling old papers for recycling.
  • Pulling the hold list and returning expired holds.
  • Maintaining the material handling system for automatic RFID check-in of materials.
  • Keeping experience items (vinyl, musical instruments, board and card games, craft equipment, and outdoor gear) stocked, displayed, and in working condition.
  • Processing daily deliveries and getting them onto the floor quickly.
  • Tracing items, claiming returns, and getting them to their correct location.
  • Sharing ideas on district committees, branch meetings, and training days.
  • Helping customers with basic questions about the library.
  • Answering phones or the drive-thru window.
  • Explaining basic knowledge of library operations.
  • Pulling items for condition.
  • Pointing out collection gaps to the Branch Manager.
