About The Position

White Oak Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Wound Ostomy Care Technician (CNA) for our Wound Care team who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Maryland Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license
  • Two years of acute care hospital experience as CNA/PCT
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Strong observational skills
  • Ability to prioritize care for high-acuity patients
  • Compassionate patient-centered approach

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams is preferred
  • Completion of AHC WOMC Wound/Ostomy training program
  • Certified Wound Care Technician (WCTC), Wound Treatment Associate (WTA), or Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Technician (WOCT), or willingness to obtain within 6 months

Responsibilities

  • Assist with identification, assessment, measurement, staging, and documentation of acute and chronic wounds
  • Perform wound cleansing, dressing changes, pressure injury prevention measures/checklist, and ostomy care per protocol.
  • Conduct daily routine skin integrity rounds on all patients on the assigned units/areas.
  • Support patient and caregiver education to promote self-management and discharge readiness.
  • Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and real time support for providers with appropriate wound documentation.
  • Accurately document wound data to support outcome tracking and performance metrics.
  • Participate in skin integrity programs, prevalence studies, and unit-based initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
