About The Position

BrightStar Care is seeking a compassionate and experienced Wound Care & Vaccination Nurse (RN or LVN) to join their team. This PRN/part-time opportunity serves patients in the Athens, Mabank, and Terrell areas, offering flexible scheduling and the chance to provide hands-on patient care in their homes. The role involves performing wound assessments, administering vaccinations, monitoring patients, educating caregivers, and maintaining accurate documentation while adhering to safety standards.

Requirements

• Active Texas RN or LVN license
• 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between Athens, Mabank, and Terrell
• Current CPR certification — required and not company paid

Nice To Haves

• Wound care experience preferred
• Vaccination/immunization experience preferred
• Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills
• Current TB test — company paid

Responsibilities

• Perform wound assessments and provide individualized wound care
• Administer vaccinations according to physician orders and Texas guidelines
• Monitor patients and identify changes in condition
• Document patient care, progress, and response to treatment
• Educate patients and caregivers on wound care and post-vaccination instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Follow infection control and patient safety standards
• Communicate with physicians, caregivers, and the BrightStar Care clinical team
