This role involves evaluating and managing patients for wound care, ensuring delivered care meets current standards of practice, and adhering to Healogics clinical practice guidelines. The position requires competency in wound care, including assessment, debridement, and hyperbaric oxygen treatment. It also involves participation in the Quality Improvement Program to optimize service and patient satisfaction, serving as a patient advocate, and initiating action for continuity of care outside the facility. Operations include maintaining patient records, claims, and correspondence, ensuring documentation is complete, verifying Superbills and diagnostic codes, and maintaining patient confidentiality. The role also involves performing designated administrative duties. Supervision of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy requires successful completion of an approved 40-hour training course, identifying and assessing candidates for HBO therapy, determining and documenting medical necessity, providing patient education, writing orders, applying clinical judgment, and monitoring patient progress. The position also requires developing advanced knowledge of wound care and dermatology, maintaining confidentiality, modifying treatment approaches for age-specific variables, and participating in education, research, and leadership activities. Maintaining CEUs and current licenses, permits, registrations, and certifications is also required.
