About The Position

The Cornerstone Worship Leader assists the Director of Worship Arts in coordinating and fulfilling music and creative elements for worship experiences across all Cornerstone Campuses. This role supports and advises the Director of Worship Arts, collaborating with Pastors and ministry leadership. The Worship Leader helps facilitate the Worship Arts and Creative Arts teams, maintaining a safe and accessible environment for service participation. This position supports Cornerstone's mission to “Help people know Jesus and make him known” and “help people take their next step.”

Requirements

  • Good interpersonal skills and familiarity with church as an organization and place of worship.
  • Calm under pressure and able to make quick decisions.
  • Excellent knowledge of web technologies and live event planning tools like Planning Center.
  • A working knowledge of music and live event AV equipment and how it works, and able to do basic troubleshooting.
  • Possess a willingness to learn and grow professionally.
  • Ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented and flexible.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable building teams and developing talent (staff and volunteers).
  • Able to confidently lead on stage while delegating responsibilities to team members.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of copyright laws and Trademark Regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet firm deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, diligent, and thinks about the next step and opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Support a multi-site worship experience and strategy that represents Cornerstone's mission, vision, and values at all campuses.
  • Lead Worship Arts teams for services at any of Cornerstone’s campuses, with campus rotation and schedule determined by the Director of Worship Arts.
  • Prepare and run Worship rehearsals with staff and volunteers, including setting up campus iPads for loops/click tracks in worship sets.
  • Maintain a proficient standard of musical quality while balancing volunteer engagement.
  • Support the overall worship experience and other supporting teams (Pastors, Tech, etc.) during services.
  • Maintain a culture that is safe and healthy where people worship and serve out of an overflow.
  • Lead and direct bands in live venue settings as an experienced vocalist.
  • Coach and lead volunteers to maximize their potential.
  • Ensure the development of campus music leaders, vocalists, musicians, and interns.
  • Ensure copyright and licensing compliance.
  • Develop strong working collaboration between the Worship Arts and Tech Arts teams.
  • Clearly communicate technical needs to the Tech booth to ensure a smooth live performance experience (e.g., in-ear monitor issues, distortion, improper reverb, signal drops).
  • Support the vision of integrating arts and creative elements into worship experiences.
  • Contribute to the development and coordination of services and special events utilizing arts, music, media, drama, video, dance, art, etc., in collaboration with Worship, Communications, Video, and Tech Arts teams.
  • Support Pastors and the Teaching team on creating and integrating creative and teaching elements into services and messages.
  • Collaborate with Communications, Video, and Tech teams on projects.
  • Support Ministries in areas as they apply to Worship.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  • Participate in events and represent Cornerstone externally as needed.
