About The Position

World News Tonight with David Muir stands as the news division's premier broadcast! Offering unparalleled reporting, the program delivers up-to-the-minute information and analysis on significant events from both the nation and the world. Helmed by David Muir, the broadcast demonstrates the expertise of an award-winning team comprising correspondents, producers, and off-air reporters. The approximate dates of this internship are late August 2026 through early January 2027.

Requirements

  • Previous experience (academic or internship) in journalism (print and/or broadcast); television production, news and news media production; and/or television news script writing
  • Experience with multi-tasking in a constantly evolving work environment, effectively balancing and prioritizing multiple projects and meeting deadlines when necessary
  • Experience working in collaborative environments, and researching and/or using a range of tools to acquire information and present findings
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
  • Fully available to work 40 hours per week (hours and days to be determined by your supervisor and could include nights and/or weekends)
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the New York, New York area
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with and/or curiosity about hard news- breaking, national and international news
  • Previous internship experience in a professional newsroom setting
  • Basic proficiency (academic or previous internship) with non-linear editing software (Avid specifically)

Responsibilities

  • Support all aspects of production, which may include video editing
  • Conduct video and editorial research
  • Log tape and source and clear video
  • Pitch stories and book interviews
